Jelena Trogrlic, 88, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Jelena Sliskovic was born June 9, 1921 in Zepce, Bosnia the daughter of Stipo and Ljubica (Cicarevic) Sliskovic. She grew up and attended school in Zepce. Jelena married Franjo Trogrlic in 1942 in Zepce. They moved to Croatia and lived in Bjelovar near Zagreb. Franjo was killed in 1945 during WWII. Jelena returned to Zepce and worked as a municipal office clerk. In 1955 she moved to Zenica and worked as a tailor until she retired in 1971 to become a full time grandmother. In 2003 she moved to the United States to join her family. Jelena enjoyed time with her family. She was an excellent cook and was exceptionally talented in needlework. Survivors include her daughter, Nada (Ranko) Todorovic; grandson, Alex (Ivona) Todorovic and a great grandson, Daniel Todorovic, all of Grand Forks, ND. Jelena was preceded in death by her husband, Franjo, by her parents and by 3 sisters.
