Clarence M. Larson

Clarence M. Larson, 84, of Grand Forks died Oct. 28, 2009 at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND. Clarence Marvin Larson was born April 17, 1925 at Drayton, ND the son of Anton and Anna (Hoel) Larson. He attended school in Drayton and moved to Grand Forks with his family in 1941.He married Anita Peterson on April 8, 1947 at the First Lutheran Church in Eldred, MN. They made their home in Grand Forks, raising their two children. Clarence worked for several years as an independent trucker before being employed by Butler Machinery Co. as a parts man in 1954. He held several positions with Butlers, including parts manager, store manager and heavy equipment salesman. He worked for Butlers for 27 years before retiring in late 1979. One year later he joined Strata Corporation establishing their purchasing department and serving as Strata's purchasing director for 10 years until retiring in 1990. Clarence loved to golf and had many golfing friends. He and Anita were members of Calvary Lutheran Church for 49 years and loved to work in service at the church. Clarence was a member of the Valley Memorial Club and a long time member of the Elks Lodge #255. Clarence is survived by: Wife: Anita - Grand Forks, ND Children: Dennis W. (Kay) Larson - Fargo, ND Carol J. (Jon) Campbell - Aneta, ND Grandchildren: Merritt M. Larson - Fargo, ND Mallory K. Larson - Brooklyn, NY Carrie (Brian)Campbell Williams - Lithia, FL Alex J. Campbell - Riverview, FL Great Granddaughter: Julia Clare Williams He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lee, Norris and Kermit; two sisters-in-law, Laurel (Norris) Larson and Ruth (Kermit) Larson.
