Raymond W Stadstad

Raymond Stadstad, 88, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Ray was born on May 29, 1921, in Grand Forks, ND to William and Cora (Storstad) Stadstad. He grew up and attended school in Manvel, ND. He married Frances Nagle on June 6, 1942 in Ocean Beach, CA. Ray joined the Army Air Corps in December 1944 and served for two years. He worked for the Grand Forks County Highway Department for 33 years until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He and his wife spent 20 years enjoying their summers at Springsteel Resort in Warroad, MN. Ray is survived by: Wife - Frances Brother- Odell (Reggie) Stadstad - Manvel, ND Sister-in-law - Lavina Stadstad - Northfield, MN Sons: Richard (Barbara) Stadstad - Oregon City, OR Greg (Chris) Stadstad - Sandy, OR Daughters: Linda (Robert) Eggen - Oslo, MN Faye Hoff (Al Skarsten) - East Grand Forks, MN Many Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRoy (Bud) Stadstad; two grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 1:30 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks following the service.
