M. Magdaline Adamski, "Mac", died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania, Ohio. She has lived in Toledo, near her daughter Joan, since 2004. Mary Magdaline, born November 7, 1913 in Pulaski Township, near Warsaw, North Dakota, was the fourth of twelve children born to John and Martha Gerszewski. She walked to rural school, graduated from Ardoch, North Dakota High School and received her B.S. in Education from Mayville State University. Her graduate studies include a fifth year of Education from Bemidji State, an Elementary Science degree from the University of North Dakota and Headstart certification from the University of Indiana, Bloomington. Mac taught five years in Walsh County, N.D. rural school until 1942 when she went to Milwaukee, WI. to work for Perfex Co. manufacturing ammunition supplies to support the War effort. She returned to North Dakota to marry Sylvester Adamski in June 1946 at St. Stanislaus Church, Warsaw. They made their home in Oslo, Minnesota. In 1947, Mac accepted a position in the Oslo Public Schools where she taught elementary students for 28 years until her retirement in 1984. She moved to Toledo, Ohio in 2004 to live near her daughter. Mac was a lifetime member of the N.E.A and M.E.A.; the American Legion Auxiliary Post #331; Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; Jolly Seniors of Oslo; and was active for 56 years in St. Joseph Parish Ladies Aide, altar committee and religious education. Survivors are her son, Tim (Mary) Adamski, Edmond, Oklahoma and their children Jon Nelson and Jennifer Weingrad; daughter Joan (William) Hennessy, Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren Sean, Oakland, CA., Brendan, Columbus, OH. and Meghan Hennessy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Syl; sisters Sarah Ebertowski, Suzanne Sood, Louise LaPointe; and brothers Walter, Onufry, Sebastian, Isadore, Henry and Stephen.
