Virginia Vleck

March 21, 1932 — December 10, 2009

Virginia M. Vleck, 77, formerly of Buxton, ND went home to be with her Lord in heaven,Thursday, December 10, 2009 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Virginia Mildred Hoag was born March 21, 1932 in Harwood, ND, the daughter of Veeder and Mildred (Brandvik) Hoag. She grew up on a farm near Harwood, ND, graduated from Oak Grove High School of Fargo, ND then worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo. Virginia married Walter Vleck on September 5, 1953 at the Assembly of God Church in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Hillsboro, ND until 1958 and then moved to Hunter, ND where they resided until 1960. Buxton, ND became their next home until they bought their prized farm just outside of town two years later. For the next 46 years, they lovingly worked to make it their perfect home. In 2008 they moved to the Good Samaritan in East Grand Forks, MN. Virginia lived her life for her Lord, her family, and her pets. She had an extremely generous nature, helping those in need always before herself. Virginia loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and raising her family on their farm. She loved visiting with family and many lifelong friends, enjoying her animals and pets, especially cats, gardening and raising beautiful flowers, baking, taking photos, and genealogy. Virginia taught Sunday School for many years, was active in Valley I Believe In Life, and worked to do whatever her Lord asked of her. Virginia will forever be remembered by her loving husband, Walter, East Grand Forks, MN; cherished by her children, Gloria (Jim) Schneider, Chippewa Falls, WI; John (Janice) Vleck, Pullman, WA; and Wayne (Beverly) Vleck, Valley City, ND; Phyllis (Fubara) Dapper, Lakeville, MN; treasured by her grandchildren, Patrick Cofell, Christy (Caleb) Haugen, Jennifer Vleck, Jace Vleck, Joylissa Vleck, Anthony Vleck, Brandon Dapper, William Dapper, Blake Dapper; and beloved by her sister, Marilyn Gunnarson, Havre, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Milton, and a sister, Phyllis. The family wishes to thank the many people who have touched Virginia's life. She has always supported many organizations and we ask that she be remembered with memorials to her favorites: The Billy Graham Association, Grand Forks Humane Society, or her home church, the First Church of God of Grand Forks.
