Larry Olufson

Larry D. Olufson, 64, of Grand Forks, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Larry Dean Olufson was born on September 18, 1945, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Henry and Emeline (Kroll) Olufson. Larry grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central in 1963. Larry joined the U.S. Army Reserves and served for 6 years. Larry farmed with his father, Henry and brother Ted. When Henry retired, Larry and Ted took over the family farm. Larry also was at one time the tax assessor for Brenna Township in rural Grand Forks. Larry was a member of the East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157. Larry is survived by a brother, Ted (Gayle) Olufson of Grand Forks; sister, Meredith Dubuque of Grand Forks; step-mother, Helen Pederson of Grand Forks; 5 nieces, Cindy Thomas, Kathy Dubuque, Debbie Dubuque, Michelle (Paul) Shumate, and Amy (Dale) Twedell; and 8 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. No funeral services are planned at Larry's request.
