Cobie Axelson

Cobie Norma (Bjornson) Axelson, 61, of Grand Forks, passed away on December 18, 2009, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Cobie was born on June 7, 1948, in Grafton, ND, the daughter of Hannes and Milda (Jore) Bjornson. She grew up in Mountain, ND, and graduated from high school in Edinburg in 1966. Cobie married Larry Axelson on April 12, 1986. Together they adopted Josh Axelson. They were later divorced. Cobie devoted her work life to the State Developmental Center, REM, Development Homes, and most recently at Deitrichs Bus Service. Earlier this year Cobie adopted her grandson, Christopher. Cobie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time at her church. Cobie is survived by her sons; Kenneth Bjornson of Grand Forks, Josh (Carisa Christianson) of St. Cloud, MN; daughter, Sheila (Chad Machart) Bjornson of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Christopher Axelson, Ryan Machart, Caleb Machart and Peyton Axelson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marvin and Duane
