Florence Moen

Florence M. Moen, 86, Grand Forks, ND, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Altru Hospital. Florence May Sabe was born November 13, 1923 in Grand Forks, the daughter of Peter and Susan (Bushaw) Sabe. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. Florence married Leonard Moen in March of 1943. They made their home in Gilby, ND, where they raised their two daughters. She moved to Grand Forks following the death of her husband, Leonard in March of 1977.Florence worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Deaconess Hospital, United Hospital and Tufte Manor until her retirement at the age of 72. Florence especially enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and traveling. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Tim) Anvinson, Oslo, MN and Lynette (Robert) Montgomery, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Kyle (Dennis) Erickson, Warren, MN; Todd (Dori) Anvinson, Oslo, MN; Kimberly (Chad) Stevermer, West Fargo, ND; Chad (Nikki) Anvinson, East Grand Forks, MN; Travis Montgomery, Grand Forks and Jenny (Richard) Thompson, Soldotna, Alaska; great grandchildren, Taylor, Colton, Sydney, Spencer, Emma, Hannah, Rylie and Kylie; sister, Gladys Schmalenberg, East Grand Forks, MN. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers, Richard and Cecil and a sister, Alice Holweger.
