Vernon Ellenson

Vernon J. Ellenson "Vern", beloved husband, father and grandfather died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Vern was born September 16, 1939 in Ross, MN the son of Palmer and Alice(Magnuson) Ellenson. He married the love of his life Edna Kresel on April 8, 1961. Vern worked as a certified Automotive Body Technician for Wilcox and Malm for 28 years before retiring in 1993. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who he taught body mechanics and other automotive skills. Vern is survived by: Wife: Edna Ellenson Daughters: Cheryl (David) Mitzel - East Grand Forks Sharon (Paul) Comeau - Grand Forks Korie Hensrud - Grand Forks Grandsons: Mathew, Michael, Joseph and James Hensrud; Daniel, Lucas, Jamie and Dominick Comeau; Steven Mitzel. Granddaughters: Angela Barrett, JoAnna Mitzel; Courtney and Madison Comeau. Five Great Grandchildren Brothers: Lyle Ellenson - Badger, MN Forrest Ellenson - Pinetop, AZ Vern was preceded in death by his beloved son Jamie Lee Ellenson in 1979, his parents, a brother Duane and a son-in-law James H. Hensrud.
