Adeline (Hoverson) Roisland Adeline H. "Muffy" Roisland, 83, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Adeline Harriet Ferguson was born in Levant Township, Grand Forks County, ND on October 25, 1926 to Lawrence and Anna Christina "Tena" (Shane) Ferguson. She attended school in Manvel, ND. Adeline married Leo Hoverson in 1945. They lived and farmed in Manvel, ND until his death in 1962. She married Ernest Roisland in 1972. They made their home in Grand Forks until his death in 2006. Adeline worked for Dayton's Department Store for 10 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed babysitting for her great-grandchildren, shopping marathons' with her daughters and granddaughters, gardening, baking, dish towel embroidery and watching UND hockey. She was a very special person and loved by everyone who touched her life. She is survived by her children, Roger (Darlene) Hoverson, Grand Forks, Connie (Howard) Devine, Manvel, ND, Sandra Slama, Fargo, ND, Wesley Hoverson, Manvel, ND; step-children, Kerry (Carol) Roisland, Grand Forks, Jan (Ronald ) Skallet, Thief River Falls, MN, Vicky (Loren) Vetttelson, Trail, MN, Liane (Bruce) Barton, Fergus Falls, MN, Linda Roisland, Oklee, MN; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, and 13 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Tena Ferguson; 3 brothers, Willis, Vic, and Art; her husbands, Leo Hoverson, and Ernest Roisland; and step-son, Kevin Roisland. Adeline's family is deeply grateful to the staff at Woodside Village for the compassionate care both our mother and family received. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, 3426 Chestnut St., Grand Forks. Visitation: will be for the hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
