Leonel A. Anderson, 93, of Grand Forks, passed away on February 14, 2010, at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Leonel Anderson was born June 25, 1916 in Middle River, MN, the son of Albin and Ella (Osterberg) Anderson. Leo was married on March 29, 1941 to Viola Johnson. They made their home in Middle River, MN until moving to Grand Forks in 1950. Leo worked for Eickhof construction of Crookston, MN as a carpenter for many years. Leo was proud of the life time gold membership card he received for 50 continuous years of membership in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America. Leo loved to watch Minnesota Gopher hockey, fishing at Lake of the Woods and working in his yard. Leo is survived by daughter Gail (Robert) Groff Brentwood, CA, sons Steven (Peggy) Anderson Grand Forks, ND and Terry (Melissa) Anderson Omaha, NE. 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, one brother Floyd (Vonnie) Anderson, sisters Ruby Torgelson, Pearl Moen and many nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by Viola his wife of 60 years, his parents, infant brother Lawrence, sisters Nettie DesSaint, Mabel Pederson, Marion Courtemache, his step-son Darwin Johnson and great-grandson Jacob Johnson. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND.
