Viola Aardahl

June 22, 1907 — February 14, 2010

Viola Pearl Aardahl, age 102, went to be with her Lord on February 14, 2010. Viola was born June 22, 1907 to John and Francis (Dauhower) Grythe at Duxby, MN. Viola married in 1927. She had four children. Viola married Albert Aardahl in 1945. She resided on a farm near the Edinburg area. When her husband passed away, Viola moved to Grafton, ND where she worked in the hospital at the Developmental Center for several years. At the age of 91, she moved to Grand Forks where she lived in assisted living at 4000 Valley Square and later in the nursing home of Valley Woodside Village. Viola is survived by a son, Ray (Earline) Wilson, Neche, ND; daughters, Gayle Brown, Fargo, ND and Judy (Del) Nygard, Grafton, ND and a foster daughter, Esther Boettger, Tacoma, WA. She had several grandchildren, Kim (Duane) Johnson, Karen (Glenn) Kawlewski, Scott Brown, Julie (Mark) Doyle, Joni Nygard, Shane (Ann) Nygard and Joanne Birdsall; great grandchildren, Tory, Michael and Alexa Doyle, Jordan, Kelsey, Kara and Maddie Brown, Nathan and Nicole Kawlewski, Katie (Bart) Schouweiler, Emily, Adam and Matthew Nygard and Nathan Birdsall; sister, Betty Njaa, Grand Forks; brother, Loren (Irene) Grythe, Hoyt Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dottie at age 5 years, her husband, parents, two sisters, two brothers and her son-in-law, William "Bill" Brown. We will miss her very much. She put her trust in our Lord and she is going home to heaven. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
