Crystal E. Ramsey, 93, Grand Forks, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center. Crystal was born October 4, 1916, and was the oldest daughter of William and Laura (Falter) Ramsey of Park River, North Dakota. She attended Ramsey Grove School. After her father died, the family moved to Kelso, Washington but Crystal later returned to her beloved North Dakota. She married Joseph P. Hajicek in 1938 and they farmed in Walsh County. They had six children. In 1956 they moved to Grand Forks where they subsequently divorced. Crystal enjoyed raising a garden, and was a great baker, especially buns, rolls, and pies. She won numerous ribbons at the county fair for her jams and jellies. She took great pride in her English heritage, and 20 years of employment at Valley Memorial Homes-Almonte Living Center. She is survived by her children, Carole (Dennis) Bischoff, Paul (Eunice) Hajicek, Faye (Richard) Lehn all of Grand Forks, and Roger (Jayne) Hajicek, Grand Prairie, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Gordon, Vancouver, Washington; Winnie (Dick) Boss, Castle Rock, Washington; Brother Elmer (Elaine) Ramsey, Thousand Oaks, California. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Joseph; sons, Earl and Todd Hajicek; brothers, Clinton, Leland, Warren and Vernon; sister, Wilma Bone.
