Donald Thomas Hewitt

Donald Thomas Hewitt, 52, passed away peacefully at his Rose Lake (Frazee, Minnesota) home on Friday March 5, 2010 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Don was one of four children born to the late Kathryn (Farmer) and Harry "Hardy" Hewitt of Minto, North Dakota on October 4, 1957. He was the beloved husband of Cindy (Peterson) Hewitt for over 26 years and father to twins Ashley and Jamie, whom he adored and cherished. He is preceded in death by his brother John "Jack" Hewitt and is survived by brother Robert (Wendy) Hewitt, Grand Forks, and sister Peggy (Randy) Kowalski, Minto, North Dakota. Don was dedicated to his work at Strata Corporation for 21 years. Don loved fishing, hunting, burning rubber on his Harley, and most importantly, his family. Don touched the lives of many with his compassion and guidance, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He will be forever remembered by countless friends and family who were blessed to know him. Memorial Service: Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 5555 S. Washington St., Grand Forks. Family Greeting: will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Tuesday, March 9, in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Interment: will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials: the family prefers memorials to Roger Maris Cancer Center, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
