Armistice Ann Giedd

Armistice "Ann" Giedd, 85, of Grand Forks, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Ann was born on March 24, 1924 in New Orleans, LA. She was adopted by parents Regina and Emile LeBoeuf and attended school in Metairie, LA, completing the 8th grade. Ann married Randy Giedd on January 5, 1944 in Louisiana were they continued to live for several years before moving north to Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. They settled in Grand Forks where Ann worked for many years at Darcy's Café before retiring and becoming an Altru Volunteer and later a foster grandparent. Randy passed away January 26, 1996. Ann enjoyed traveling, playing cards, camping, fishing, country music and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Ann is survived by her daughters; Gina Verkonski of G.F., Daisy (Jim) Lyons of G.F., Willie (Gary) Moen of Gilby, ND, Lillie (Geff)Magsam of Foley, MN; sons, Joe Giedd of Arvilla, ND, Randy Giedd of Fargo, Harlan Giedd of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Tina Savage, Rory, Wendy and Craig Verkonski, Casey (Jenni) & Shawn Lyons, Terri Jo & Michelle Giedd, Cody (Bridgette) Colt, Cade, Cole Moen, Jason, Melissa & Adam Giedd, Alyshea & Garrett Magsam; great-grandchildren, Jace & Mark Winer, Brandon, Jacob & Savanna Giedd, Dalton Verkonski, Caden & Canyn Lyons & Rianna Giedd and sister, Wilma (Larry) Myers of Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. FUNERAL MASS: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church 1018 18th Ave. S. in Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday, March 10, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church. INTERMENT: (SPRING 2010) Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Grand Forks, N.D.
