Ruth C. Bang

Ruth C. Bang, 105, residing in New Carlisle, IN passed away at 5:50 AM Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hamilton Grove Retirement Communities. She was a sales clerk for R.B. Griffiths, Norbys, Mandels and Vanity Shop, prior to that she taught school for several years. Mrs. Bang was born on December 18, 1904 in Slayton, Minnesota to Herbert O. and Chlio (Watkins) Horner and has resided in the South Bend area for the past 12 years coming from Grand Forks, ND. In 1927 in Grand Forks, ND she married Reuben F. Bang who preceded her in death December 29, 1982. Mrs. Bang is survived by her son, Reuben F. Bang, Jr. of Monterey, TN; three grandchildren, Eric (Debra) Bang and Earl (Jennifer) Bang both of South Bend, and Anita (Tom) Zachary of Granger; six great grandchildren; and two nephews, Herbert Horner and Richard Horner both of Grand Forks, ND. Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Fords and Elks Lodge. She attended Inkster High School in Inkster, ND and Mayville State Teacher's College. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park - South Cemetery, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
