Frances May Christy

Frances M. Christy, 83, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at her home in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by her family. Frances was born on July 17, 1926 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Frank "Joseph" and Bertha (Holweger) Brunk. She grew up and attended schools in Grand Forks and graduated from GF Central High. Frances married Donald Christy on April 12, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Frances worked from 1947-57 for Irelands, and later retired from UND after 22 years of service. Frances was a 63 year member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. She loved to garden and travel. Frances is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald; sons, Glenn Christy of Bellvue, WA, Alan (Linda) Christy of Grand Forks; daughter, Collette (Allan) Forsman of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Denise, Stephanie, Alliese and Julia; great-grandchildren, Heather and River; sisters, Bea Matt of Tenstrike, MN, Phyllis Loge of Clearwater, MN; brother, Herb Brunk of Assamar, Portugal. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mamie Ostlie. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 1710 Cherry St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour before the service at the church.
