Audrey Lavonne Thorson

Audrey Thorson, 81, Grand Forks, died Monday, April 19th at Tufte Manor in Grand Forks. Audrey was born July 29,1928 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Vernon and Lillian Johnson. She grew up on the family farm outside of Lake Park, MN and attended school in Audubon, MN. She attended secretarial college in Detroit Lakes and worked in Fargo where she met Virgil Thorson. They were married February 28th, 1953. They moved to Grand Forks in 1954 where Virgil accepted a job with Bridgeman Creamery and Audrey worked for National T. In 1962, Audrey began working at Millers grocery stores until they closed in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Diane, Aptos, California, her son ,Joel (Donna) San Jose, California, a brother, Dennis, Lake Park, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil, her brothers, Donald and Lowell, and her sisters, Loretta and Darlene. A graveside service will be held this summer at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Grand Forks.
