Delmer Norris Krogstad, 86, formerly of Reynolds, ND passed away on April 22, 2010 at Valley 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village in Grand Forks, ND. Delmer was born on July 7, 1923 to John M. and Rena (Mastvelton) Krogstad in Reynolds. Delmer attended school at Morgan Township #1 and helped on the family farm prior to his service in the US Army during WWII. Delmer married Annie Brokke on November 6, 1943. Upon his return from military duty in the Philippines, he worked for various farmers in the Reynolds area. He was hired by Oscar Severinson as a mechanic and eventually purchased the repair facility in 1959 and called his new business Krogstad Garage until his retirement in 1985. Delmer was very active in the Reynolds community serving as Mayor of Reynolds, School Board Member, Volunteer Fire Dept., Officer of Zion Lutheran Church, member of American Legion and VFW, and other civic organizations. After his retirement Delmer enjoyed his family, golfing, music, Minnesota Twins, card games, dice, horseshoes and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annie; daughters, Wanda (Darrel) Knutsvig of Buxton, Carmen (Bruce) Tufte of Grand Forks, and Carolyn (Randy) Leiss of Buxton; sons, David (Margie) Krogstad of Arizona, Allen (Margaret) Krogstad of Reynolds, and Larry Krogstad of Arizona; 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Nelson of Fargo; sisters-in-law, Jean Krogstad, Ione Lautt; brothers-in-law, Adolph Krogstad, Lawrence (Jeanette) Brokke, Ruben Brokke, Raymond (Esther) Brokke and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Morris. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Reynolds, ND. VISITATION: Sunday, April 25, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. INTERMENT: Americus Cemetery in Reynolds. MILITARY HONORS: N.D. National Guard Military Funeral Honors.
