Claude Edward Robertson

Claude Edward Robertson, 83, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 25th, 2010 at Woodside Village, 4000 Valley Square, Grand Forks. Claude E. Robertson was born August 26th, 1926 in Mallory , MN. The son of Dorcy and Amanda (Markstrom) Robertson. Claude grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks , MN . He married Lorraine Koth on December 29th, 1946. Claude worked for the North Dakota Mill and Elevator for 23 years. Later he drove gravel truck for local construction companies and at one point in his career owned and operated the Baseview Café. After his retirement Lorraine and he enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Florida, Texas, and California. They enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing and polkas. Claude also enjoyed playing a game of Smear. He was a fan of baseball - Minnesota Twins and any sport he could see his family play; he was a woodworker, a birthday buddy, a back-rubber, a hand holder, a tickler and was always ready with a joke. He had broad shoulders that carried the largest of loads, yet the softest of shoulders that were always there for anyone when they needed one. He was the kindest man and a friend to all. He lit up any room he entered with his smile, his heart felt belly laughs and a twinkle in his eyes. He loved with all he had until the very end. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, his 2 daughters Karen (Terry) Pladson and Brenda (Greg) Lanes, his 4 granddaughters Lori (John) Eken, DeDe (Troy) Coltom, Becky (Blaine) Keller, Tara (Jason) Gregory, 1 grandson Jake Lanes, 10 great grandchildren Brett Eken, Jordyn Coltom, Garett Eken, Justin Keller, Abby Eken, Makayla Keller, Nick Coltom, Amanda Coltom, Brinly Gregory and Talan Gregory, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorcy and Amanda Robertson; sister, Marlys (Richard) Bushaw; and an infant son.
