Carol Ann (Hanson) Irey

Carol Ann Irey (Hanson) of Grand Forks, 45, died on May 5th, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Carol was born November 5th, 1964 in Grand Forks at the Deaconess Hospital and was adopted by the late Henry A. and Hazel A. Hanson. Carol attended Roosevelt Grade School, South Junior High School and graduated from Central High School in 1982. Carol was involved in many activities including Judy Rae Dancing, pom-pom, and youth groups at United Lutheran Church. Carol married her former husband, Matt Irey and worked for a large roofing company in Denver for many years before moving to California. In May of 2008, Carol relocated back to her home town of Grand Forks and was able to reconnect with family and friends. Carol was known for her love and generosity to family and to her many, many dear friends across the country. She loved her little poodle, Misti Mae who had been with her for 17 years. Carol valued honesty and loyalty and brought a special enthusiasm to all that she did. For all of us who knew her, she will be greatly missed. Carol is survived by her sister, Connie Rae Bateman (Hanson)[Husband Mike Bateman] and Connie's son, Kristopher Lee Dallmann. Pastor Karla Coen-Tuff, long-time family pastor and friend will be officiating the funeral service. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend. MEMORIAL SERVICES: 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at United Lutheran Church 324 Chestnut St. in Grand Forks, ND VISITATION: 4:30-6:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. INTERMENT: Tuesday, May 11th at 10 a.m. at the East Walle Cemetery of rural Thompson, ND.
