Douglas R. Hensrud

Douglas Ray Hensrud, resident of the Veteran's Home in Lisbon, ND died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 after a long illness. Douglas was born May 15, 1935 Grand Forks, ND to Ray and Alice (Magoris) Hensrud. Raised by Henry and Hazel Carlson he graduated from Central High School in 1953. Following High School, he served as a communications technician in the US Navy 1954-1958. Douglas Hensrud was married in 1955 to Janet Bahr. Survivors include children from this marriage, Dr. Don Hensrud (Natasha) of Rochester,MN; Tammy Hensrud (Luke) of Valley Stream, NY; David Hensrud of New Buffalo, MI; Laura Hensrud of Pelican Rapids, MN; daughter-in-law Korie Hensrud; his twelve grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Isaac, Davey, Kelsey, Kiley, Matt, Michael, Joe, and James Hensrud, Morgen Kerian, and Rainer DeLalio as well as two great-grandchildren; sister Rae-Ann (Mike) McGurran; brother Larry Hensrud; and many nieces and nephews. He was also previously married to Donna (Ball) Hensrud of Gilby, ND. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Danny and his son James. A Memorial Service will be held at Ness Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes that memorials be directed in memory of Douglas Hensrud to the North Dakota Veterans Home, 1400 Rose St, PO Box 673, Lisbon ND 58504.
