Leonora Ann Bang

Leonora (Ella) Bang died on June 7, 2010 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks. Ella was born Oct. 14, 1917 the youngest child of 10 to Leon and Frances (Grzadzielewski) Klava of Minto, ND. Baptized at Oakwood, ND. She graduated from Minto High School with honors. Ella married Norman Wilcox of Gilby, ND on June 30, 1938. They had one daughter, Linda Ann. Norm and Ella owned and operated a café and tavern called Norm's Place. They spent summers at their Maple Lake cabin. Before Linda was born she also worked at the Gilby Post Office and at Graff's grocery store. Norm died in September of 1959. In June of 1964 she married Donald Bang of Larimore, ND and continued to live in Gilby and Maple Lake. Donald died in October of 1986. After Don's death Ella moved to Grand Forks and had almost 23 wonderful years making new friends, joining clubs and participating in activities. Some of these activities included 50 years of Homemakers group, THEO's club, Silverstones singing group, Legions Auxiliary, RSVP volunteers, volunteering for Altru and birthday club with six friends who had known each other since high school. Ella is survived by: Her only child, Linda Dahl of Grand Forks; grandson Chad (Amy) Fullmer, and their children Caleigh - Ann and Gavin of Moorhead, MN; granddaughter, Toni (Brad) Douglas, of Grand Forks; grandson, Tyler Dahl of Grand Forks and his daughter Shayla;son-in-law, Richard Dahl. She is also survived by numerous well loved nieces, nephews and many friends. Ella was preceded in death by husbands, Norman and Donald; brothers, Max, George, Leo, Emil and Bruce; sisters, Blanch, Isabel, Mae and Annette.
