Norman Fillbrandt

Norman S. Fillbrandt "Stormin Norman", 78, of Thompson, ND died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at home. Norman S. Fillbrandt was born on October 31, 1931 to Edward and Myrtle (Ness) Fillbrandt near Hatton, ND. Norman grew up on the family farm 7 miles west of Reynolds, ND. Norman attended and graduated from high school in Hatton, ND Norman married Betty Nelson on November 15, 1953. He worked for Dahl Construction and Baukol Builders until retiring in 1983. Norman also founded and operated NF Landscaping Company of Thompson, ND in 1973 which he continued to operate until present. Norman and Betty enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona. Betty preceded him in death on August 25, 2006. Norman enjoyed dancing, fishing and going to the lake. He was also well known of his traveling pig roasts, bringing his roasters to many small town events throughout the years. Survivors include his sons, Gary, Grand Forks, ND and Rory, Crookston, MN; daughter, Cathy (Greg) Infeld of Grand Forks; three grandsons, Ryan, Fargo, ND, Jeremy, Denver, CO and Travis, Watertown, SD; brothers, Orville (Michelle), Laverne (Darlyne) and Aubrey; sisters, Jeanette (Dale) Quanbeck and Dorothy (Randy) Bakken as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Betty. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 20, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks Memorial Reception will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral Home. Burial will be in Rosendahl Cemetery of Rural Reynolds at a later date.
