Winnifred Bernadine Woods

Winnifred (Winnie) Bernadine Woods, 85, formerly of Forest River, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her home in Roseville, MN, surrounded by family. Winnifred was born on June 4, 1925, in Grand Forks, the daughter of Edward & Eva Cecily (Becker) McLain. Winnie graduated from St. James Catholic High School in 1943. She married Omer Woods on April 7, 1947. They lived and farmed at Forest River, ND, where they raised 4 children. She was a longtime member of the Forest River Homemakers and a former member of the St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Ardoch, ND. Winnie enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, cooking, sewing, gardening, spending time with her family and winters in Arizona. Winnie is survived by her children; Peggy (Larry) O'Shea of St. Cloud, MN, Jim (Pat) Woods of Frankfort, IL, Macine (John) Lukach of Langdon, ND, and Jeanine (Bob) Maiden of Roseville, MN; sister, Gerry Pladson of Havre, MT; grandchildren, Kristina (Rob) Davidson, Larissa (Clint) Gilbertson, Jackie (Ken) Gill, Mary Pat (Shaun) Lexow, James (Tricia) Woods, Kathy (Mike) Arduino, Kelly (Jim) Seltzer, John (Becky) Lukach and Paul Lukach; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Omer; sister, Connie Poe and brother, James McLain. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. with prayer service at 7 pm Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Amundson Funeral Home. The visitation will continue for the hour prior to the funeral service. INTERMENT: Forest River Cemetery, Forest River, ND.
