Donald Stenslie, 76, Grand Forks, North Dakota, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Donald was born in Pekin, North Dakota to Leonard and Myrtle (Ensrud) Stenslie. He graduated from Pekin High School in 1952. Donald served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1956 where part of his service was spent in Alaska Territory at Fort Richardson as a dispatcher of the motorpool. He returned home after proudly serving his country and attended Valley City College for one year. He was then hired by the Internal Revenue Service where he was employed for the next 30 years. Donald enjoyed retirement spending time with his family and friends, and attending Sioux sports events. He is survived by 3 children, David Stenslie, Fargo, ND, Jay (Victoria) Stenslie, Maple Grove, MN, and Nancy (Shawn) Laughery, Grand Forks; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Evan and Lauren Stenslie, all of Maple Grove, MN; 1 step-grandchild, Alexander Laughery, Grand Forks; sister-in-law, Virginia Stenslie, Minneapolis, MN; 2 nephews, Steve and Douglas Stenslie, both of Minneapolis, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alton. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m.Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 S. 9th St., Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church Interment: Pekin Cemetery, Pekin, North Dakota
