Porter Lee Foster

Porter "Joe" Foster Jr., 65, died on Thursday, August 5, 2010, at his home in Grand Forks. Joe was born on July 5, 1946, in Spartanberg, SC, the son of Porter & Violet Foster. He grew up and attended school in South Carolina. Joe entered the U.S. Air Force where he served 4 years. Joe married Shirley Sollom on November 24, 1967 in Grand Forks. He worked as a Lab Supervisor for RDO Foods and Pillsbury. Joe could be found at the Valley Golf Course winter or summer either golfing or enjoying a cup of coffee. Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Sheri (Steve) Baugh of Whitehall, AK, and 2 grandchildren, Haley and Kirk. He was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL SERVICES: Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Amundson's.
