Judd B. Sondreal

Judd B. Sondreal, 45, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his Bemidji, Minnesota lake home. Judd Blaine Sondreal was born to Jim and Brenda (McKinnon) Sondreal on August 20, 1964 in Grand Forks. He attended Viking Elementary School, Schroeder Jr. High, and graduated from Red River High School in 1983. Judd loved hockey and he was a member of Red River High School Hockey teams. Judd continued his education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he played college hockey. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1987. Judd was the owner/operator of the McKinnon Co. in Grand Forks. Judd Sondreal and Lisa Brekke were united in marriage on January 19, 1991 in Grand Forks. Judd enjoyed traveling, golf, spending time at the lake and storytelling. Judd was a proud and faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Judd was currently serving on the Altru Corporate Board, CVIC Board, National Beer Wholesalers Association Board and on the Management Committee for NBWA. In the past he had served on the Grand Forks Country Club Board and the American Red Cross, East Grand Forks Chapter. Judd is survived by: his wife, Lisa, Grand Forks; two daughters, Brittany and Annaka Sondreal, both of Grand Forks; grandmother, Ellen McKinnon, Grand Forks; parents, Jim and Brenda Sondreal, Grand Forks; a sister, Ellen (Chris) Dingle, Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George McKinnon, Conrad and Clenora Sondreal. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1405 S. 9th St., Grand Forks. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Sunday, August 22 in Calvary Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, and one hour prior to the memorial service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Community Violence Intervention Center in Grand Forks, or to Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
