Patricia Dixon Lander

Patricia D. Lander, 81, of Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family. Patricia Dixon Lander was born November 10, 1928 in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of H.C. and Norvell (Allingham) Dixon. She grew up and attended school in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from West Waterloo High School. She attended and graduated from Stephens College in Missouri. Patricia married Robert Lander on July 9, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa at the First Presbyterian Church. They made their home in Grand Forks where Patricia was involved in many organizations including, YWCA President in 1963, the Grand Forks Historical Society, Chapter AO PEO, 1st Presbyterian Church Circle 1, teaching Sunday School at the 1st Presbyterian Church, North Dakota Republican Women and she delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was also voted Woman of the year in 1975. Patricia and Miriam Ugland were instrumental in obtaining some of the original furnishings for the Campbell House in Grand Forks. Patricia is survived by: Husband: Robert - Grand Forks Sons: Christopher (Cindy) - Thompson David (Pam) - Nampa, ID Thomas (Karen) - Grand Forks Daughter: Kathleen Lander - Grand Forks Grandchildren: John Lander, Scott (April) Lander, Elizabeth Lander, Kelly (Brian) Cofer, Ryan Moore, Tom Lander, Jr., Nicholas Lander and Andrew Lander. Great Grandchildren: Nickolas and Katherine Cofer Sister-in-law: Barbara Lander She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marjorie Smith and Dale Davees. The family would like to thank Altru Hospice and Lisa, Terrie, Ruth, Helen, Delores and Elizabeth from Home Helpers who took such wonderful care of Mother.
