Ronald L Gerstner

Ronald L. (Ronn) Gerstner, 77, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. Ronn was born June 10, 1933 to Clarence "Lefty" and Norma (Bjornstad) Gerstner. Ronn served in the US Army from 1950 -1953. He managed Lefty's Bar in Grafton, ND in the mid 1960's. He most recently was working in security in San Bernardino, CA. Ronn married Dorothy Swanson in June of 1954. She passed away in 1995. He married Betty Lou Peterson on May 8, 1999 at Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. She passed away August 23, 2010. Survivors include, daughters, Sandi (Lonnie) Osborne of California, Shelly (Ken) Dacey of Minneapolis; sons, Carl Gerstner of Colorado and Craig Gerstner of California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; brothers, Larry (Cheryl) Gerstner of Florida and Norman Gerstner of Mentor, MN; brother-in-law, Gordon (Marian) Peterson of Larimore, ND; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Joel) Tangen and Arlette (Lowell) Stanlake all of Grand Forks. Ronn was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dorothy and second wife, Betty Lou and a granddaughter, Tiffany Gerstner. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Calvary Lutheran Church or a charity of choice. The family is deeply appreciative of the great care given to Ronn at Valley Eldercare.
