Earl Dahl

Earl C. Dahl, 80, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, October 1, 2010 in Grand Forks, ND. Earl Clayton Dahl was born May 22, 1930 in Fargo, ND the son of Elmer and Thea(Helling) Dahl. He was raised and educated in West Fargo, ND. Earl served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He lived in California before coming to Grand Forks. He worked for Armour Meats before going to work as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service where he was employed for 29 years until his retirement. Earl enjoyed spending time at Pine Lake near Gonvick, MN. He loved fishing, flowers, bird watching and gardening, especially his tomatoes. He also enjoyed spending winter months in Mesa, Arizona the past 17 years. Earl married Corinne Skarperud on December 8, 1951. She survives along with a son, Steve (Eileen Piersa) Dahl, San Diego, CA; daughters, Cheryl Dahl, Loveland, CO and Pam (Terry) Knudson, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Alison Knudson, Grand Forks, Andrew Knudson, Grand Forks, Aundrea Dahl, San Diego, CA and Elliot Dahl, San Diego, CA; brother, Marvin (Betty) Dahl, Grand Forks; sister Delores (Arlo) Douglass, Dilworth, MN. Earl was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in the funeral home. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service.
