Wilmar Wolfgram, age 93, died at Valley Elder Care, Grand Forks, ND on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born August 12, 1917 on a farm in Niagara, ND to the late Mary Krueger and William Wolfgram. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Olga Koeppel-Wolfgram and by his beloved wife, Evelyn (Peterson) Wolfgram, daughter, Mary (Wolfgram) Jodock, sisters: Meta Brueckner, Irene (Ernest) Byzewski, Eunice Wolfgram and brother, Benjamin Wolfgram, and nephews: Kenneth Brueckner and James Wolfgram. He is survived by his brother Paul Wolfgram Sr. and his children: Doris Smith-Coleman, GF, ND, Clara Smith-Rivera, Lutz, Florida, and Wayne Wolfgram of GF, ND and five grand children: Leah Rivera, Andrew Jodock, Stefanie and Rita Coleman, and Tim Wolfgram, nephews and nieces, and by his life-time cousin & friend, Herbert and Lovila Krueger. On December 26, 1944, Wilmar was united in marriage to Evelyn Alice Peterson at United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND. Wilmar attended a country school in Niagara, ND and Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND, and later, received his GED in 1972. Wilmar worked in separate occupations: He was a railroad reefer with the Great Northern Railroad, a farmer in Niagara, ND. He owned and operated Niagara Corner Café & Gas Station, Niagara, ND, "The Store" in East Grand Forks, and worked with his wife in Evelyn's Machine Knitting, Grand Forks. He worked for many years as a carpenter with construction companies in GF, primarily: Sandstrom & Olson and with Peterson Construction Company. His proudest accomplishments were his role as a foster parent to over 150 children. He loved "family togetherness". When it came to being a great Husband, Dad, Uncle, Brother-in-law and Friend, Wilmar had it nailed. Funeral services for Wilmar Wolfgram will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1616 S 17th St Grand Forks, ND 58201. Relatives and friends are welcome to 5 - 7 visitation and 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2010. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service in church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the Lutheran Social Services Children's Home of Fargo, ND.
