Ellen Kathryn "Kay" Voiss

Ellen Kathryn "Kay" Voiss, 90, formerly of Grand Forks, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Bemidji, Minnesota. Ellen Kathryn Kringlen was born to John and Anne (Johnson) Kringlen on February 21, 1920 in Hatton, North Dakota. She attended school at Rural Hatton. Kay and Lyle Voiss were united in marriage on June 6, 1945 at Hatton. They resided in Grand Forks until November, 2007 when they moved to Park Rapids, Minnesota. Kay was a member of the Mission Belles, Valley Memorial VM1000 Club, Bethesda Society, Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, and Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, baking and cooking, entertaining, and playing Rook. She is survived by her husband, Lyle, Bemidji, MN; children, John (Patty) Voiss, Idaho Falls, ID, David Voiss, Henderson, NV, Patricia (Louie) Falk, Park Rapids, MN, Darlene (Stan) Nelson, Bemidji, MN, James Voiss, Brainerd, MN and Dean (Sue) Voiss, Mountain View, CA; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Kvernen, Portland, ND, Phyllis (Irving) Eng, Hankinson, ND, and Robert (Delores) Kringlen, Larimore, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Henry Kringlen, Sylvia Hastad, Amy Haugen, John Kringlen, Ralph Kringlen, Philip Kringlen, and Donald Kringlen. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 in Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church , 1616 S. 17th St., Grand Forks. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Prayer Service and Time of Sharing on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, and one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
