Beatrice "Betty" R. Mitzel, 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at her home in Grand Forks. Betty was born on July 23, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Roy and Sylvia (Johnson) Repp. Betty grew up in Cameron, WI where her father was also a pharmacist and owned a drug store. Betty graduated from high school at the young age of 16. She attended the college of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, the University of Wisconsin and received her degree in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. Betty married Jack Mitzel December 2, 1951. Betty was a pioneer for women in pharmacy. She worked as a pharmacist for many years before retiring from the Rehab Clinic Pharmacy in Grand Forks. Betty was an avid golfer who accomplished 3 hole-in-ones in her career. She also enjoyed bridge and was a devoted wife and mother. Betty is survived by her husband, Jack; sons, John (Michelle) Mitzel of Aliso Viejo, CA and Lou Repp of Campbellsport, WI; grandchildren, John Jr. and Robert Aliso Viejo, CA and Carol, Brian and Julie of WI, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Helen.
