Marie Richards

Marie Richards, 74, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, October, 31, 2010 in her home. Patricia Marie Stoeffler was born June 15, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Rev. F. Ernest and Marie Anne (Brodbeck) Stoeffler. She was raised and educated in Philadelphia, graduating from high school in 1954. Marie later graduated from Lankenau College of Nursing in Wynnewood, PA. Marie met Robert Richards early in 1957. They were married on August 10, 1957 in Philadelphia by Marie's father, Rev. Dr. F. Ernest Stoeffler. They lived in Sayre, PA and Marshfield, WI before moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1968. Nearly everything of value to Marie was tied to her family. She faithfully attended events of her children and grandchildren. She was fond of sports (especially hockey and football), but also loved theater and the arts. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and travel with family. Survivors include: son, Jeffrey (Sherry) Richards, Amarillo, TX and their children, Jessica (Eric)Soseby, Amarillo, TX, Stancy (Blake) Higley, Bryan, TX and Jed Richards, Amarillo, TX and grandchild Benaiah Soseby; son, Norman "Bud" (Sue) Richards, Madison, WI and their children, Sam, Tom and Fred; son, Steve (Adelma) Richards, Atlanta, GA and their children, Christian, and Isabela; son, Daniel (Holly) Richards, Grand Forks and their children, Ethan, Alexandra, Haden and Lauren; sister, Linda (Bernie) Giardetti, Lancaster, PA. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Richards and by her parents.
