Myron Rydland

Myron (Mike) Rydland, age 70, of Grand Forks passed away on Saturday, December 4, surrounded by his family. Mike was born on July 2, 1940 to parents Marvin and Ida Rydland and grew up on a farm outside Hatton, ND. He graduated from the Crookston Agricultural School and returned to the family farm. Mike married Gaynelle Meyers on November 12, 1966. Mike farmed until 1997, after which he did private contracting in various construction and excavation until his retirement in 2009. Mike is survived by his wife, Gaynelle, of 44 years, Grand Forks; two children, Garth (Christine) Rydland, Grand Forks, and Malena (Jeremiah) Kronebusch, Grand Forks; two grandchildren, Lauren and Carter Rydland; sisters Mardell (Warren) Nienas and Ollie Beine of Northwood, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Ida and brother-in-law Jim Beine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. memorial service on Tuesday, December 7th at University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Ave., Grand Forks. Internment will be in the spring at Washington Prairie cemetery in rural Hatton. Memorials may be given to Hatton Dollars for Scholars, Altru Cancer Center, Altru Hospice, and Valley Memorial Homes.
