Mae Gudvangen

Mae L. Gudvangen, 83, Grand Forks, ND died Monday, December 6, 2010 in Edgewood Vista of East Grand Forks, MN. Mae Lillian Gudvangen was born May 31, 1927 near Climax, MN the daughter of John and Emma (Moe) Gudvangen. Mae was raised and educated near Climax and graduated from high school there. She worked on her family farm doing daily chores and cooking for farmhands. She loved to plant and tend to her large vegetable garden. Mae was also a caregiver for her mother for many years. Mae moved to Grand Forks in 1989. She planted tomatoes from seed and gave to neighbors, friends, and relatives. She enjoyed outside work and would often blow snow for herself and others who lived near her. Mae was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Survivors include her sister, Helen Wagner, Palisade, MN and several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bertha Bliss, Magdeline Owens, Millie Arness, Agnes Stenson, Esther Gudvangen and Florence Baker; brothers, John, Art, Kermit, Milton and Edwin Gudvangen as well as several infant siblings. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 10, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the fisher Lutheran Cemetery of Fisher, MN in the Spring.
