James C. Parton, 35, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 of natural causes at his home in Thompson, North Dakota. James Clifford Parton was born to Richard and Diana (Arntz) Parton on May 15, 1975 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Thompson, North Dakota, graduating from Thompson High School in 1993. James was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Gowan Construction Co. He enjoyed playing darts, riding snowmobiles, and hunting. He was a member of the Walle Lutheran Church Men's Club. His nieces and nephew were the light of his life. James is survived by his parents, Richard and Diana Parton, Thompson, ND; his brothers, Chad (Janet) Parton and their children, Isabel, Elizabeth and Mark, of Minot, ND, Daniel (Tonya) Parton and their children, Alexis and Halle of East Grand Forks, MN; grandparents, Clifford and Eleanora Arntz, Grand Forks; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Leona Parton and cousin, Kelly Arntz. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 in Walle Lutheran Church, Rural Thompson, North Dakota. Visitation: will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and for the hour prior to the service in church. Interment: will be in Walle Lutheran Cemetery.
