June Delores Beireis, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in Bedford, Texas. June Delores Beireis was born June 27, 1929 in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughter of George and Dena Lithun. June's father enlisted in the Navy, January of 1943 and her family moved to the Chicago area, until they returned to Harvey, ND in September, 1944. During this time, 14 year old June worked in an olive factory, but found time to visit the Planetarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Aquarium, and the Lincoln Park Zoo! June graduated from Harvey High School in May of 1947. At age 19, June married Howard Johnson on December 20, 1948 in Miles City, Montana. With an earned Teacher's Certificate from Minot State Teacher's College in 1949, June taught grades 1-8 at the Foss Country School outside of Harvey for 2 years. Howard and June had 4 children, Diane Elaine, Renee Marie, Douglas Howard, and Bonnie Sue. On March 17, 1962, June married H. David Beireis. She worked at Pillsbury Company in Grand Forks for several years. June and Dave had a son, Ralph, who died as a toddler. For the last 4 years June has been living in Texas She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave; a son, Ralph; and a grandson, Ryan Staskivige She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Mrs. Marvin) Morrison, Colleyville, Texas; Renee (Mrs. Tom) Wilber, Jordan, Minnesota; Bonnie (Mrs. Paul) Burke, East Grand Forks, Minnesota; and a son, Douglas (Connie) Beireis, Grand Forks, North Dakota; 10 Grandchildren; and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
