Gladys Fahey, 99, Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Gladys Durnell, the daughter of William and Ida (Wendt) Durnell was born on December 17, 1911 at Manvel, North Dakota. She moved with her family to Lakota, North Dakota where she graduated from Lakota High School. She attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks and held an office position at a Grand Forks insurance company. She later was a part time bookkeeper for Iverson Electric in Grand Forks. She married Richard Fahey on June 5, 1940 in the Lakota Episcopal Church. They made their home in Grand Forks where Richard worked for Minnkota Power Company. Gladys was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and a friend to those fortunate to be close to her. Gladys is survived by her two sons, Darryl (Karin) Fahey, Lawrence, KS, and Roger (Karen) Fahey, Pine River, WI; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a grandchild. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 (today) in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation: one hour prior to the funeral in the funeral home. Interment: will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials: may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice
