H. Lorraine Lund died Friday, Mar 4, at Valley Transitional Care Unit in Grand Forks, ND. She was 89. Lorraine was born in Grafton, ND May 16, 1921, the second daughter of Adolph and Catherine (McIver) Lund. She grew up in Grand Forks, attending Roosevelt Grade School and Central High School. Lorraine's senior year in high school was at the Stevens School in Missouri. She also attended the University of North Dakota and Aaker's Business College before working for the Adolph Lund Company in East Grand Forks. After caring for her parents for several years, she worked at the YWCA and Baukol Builders. Lorraine was an avid sports fan, addicted to Curling and the Westminster Dog Show. She was a member of the Grand Forks Scotties for many years and was on the team that won the Satrom Cup in 1972. Lorraine loved dogs and, sadly, leaves behind two Yorkshire Terriers, Tilly and Dilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Catherine, her sister Marian Lund Rice and an infant brother, Adolph, Jr. She is survived by nephews Peter (Betsy) Rice, Dr. Jon (Roberta) Rice, Craig (Barbara) Rice, Scott (Debbie) Rice, grandnieces and grandnephews, their children, and many close friends. Interment will be in the Spring.
