Marlene Margaret Hutchings

Marlene M. Hutchings, 64, of Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN. Marlene Margaret Hrdlicka was born on December 29, 1946 in St. Peter, MN, to Loyal and Margaret (Chapman) Hrdlicka. She grew up in Minnesota, and met her husband, Dennis Hutchings, by writing letters to him while he served in the Army at Fort Polk, LA. The two were married on New Year's Eve in St. Paul in 1966. She was a loving homemaker, and her hobbies included sewing, baking, watching football and hockey (especially her husband's Oldtimer games) and gardening. She loved to spend time with her husband and her family on their many vacations to Florida, Canada, and to the lake. She is survived by: Son, Kenneth Hutchings of Mandan, ND; Daughter, Allison (Kris) Peterson of Grand Forks, ND; Mother, Margaret Hrdlicka; Brothers, Charles Hrdlicka, Marvin Hrdlicka, Joseph Hrdlicka; Sisters, Joan(Dave) Smith, Carol (Joe) Diedrich; Son-in-Law, Thomas Chapdelaine all of Minnesota; Granddaughters, Amanda Waxvik of Grand Forks, ND, Samantha Chapdelaine of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Christine Chapdelaine, father, and brother Stephen Hrdlicka.
