Jerry Nelson

Jerry D. Nelson, 68, Hatton, ND passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Hatton Prairie Village. Jerry was born August 22, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND the son of C.K. and Lila (Jenni) Nelson. He was raised in Grand Forks where he attended elementary, junior high and graduated from Central High School. He served in the U. S. Army for three years including a posting to Germany. He was honorably discharged. Jerry lived in Portland, OR where he worked in the grocery business. He later returned to Grand Forks where he worked for the State Mill, Popplrrs Music Store and Sears. Jerry enjoyed anything to do with the railroad. His father was an engineer for Northern Pacific. God has called Jerry Home. Survivors include his three children, Jerry, Jr, Washington, Debby and Kristy; three grandchildren; sister Karen Olson, Hatton, ND; brothers, Charles Nelson, Jr, Indianapolis, IN and Richard Nelson, Mesa, AZ. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ann Nelson-King.
