Adelaine M. "Mickey" Chumich, 94, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away March 28, 2011 at Golden Valley Nursing Home, Golden Valley, MN. Mickey was born October 19, 1916 in Chetek, WI. She was one of three children to Edward "EJ" and Minnie Anderson. She grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. She attended the First Presbyterian Church and helped write columns for the church newsletter, The First Press. In the 50s and early 60s she helped her parents with renting out rooms in their home and also took care of her only child, daughter Joan. In 1995, Mickey became ill and moved into Valley Memorial Home Eldercare of Grand Forks until the Flood of 1997. She then moved to Golden Valley, MN where she resided until the time of her death. She is survived by her son-in-law, Rex Rupert; grandson, Ryan (Becky) Rupert of Grand Forks, ND; granddaughter, Rancee Rupert (Lisa Shanklin) of Sherwood, AR; great granddaughter, Abbagail Rupert of Grand Forks, ND; 1 nephew; 4 nieces and many great nieces and nephews. Mickey is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joan; brother, Kermith and a sister, Herdes. Graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks at a later date.
