Donald D. Olson, 82, of Grand Forks (formerly of Edmore) died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village in Grand Forks. Donald was born July 17, 1928 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Arnold and Myrtle (Wright) Olson. He graduated from Edmore High School. Donald was united in marriage to Dolores Bolstad at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fairdale, ND. Donald and his wife farmed for many years at Edmore. His dedication to farming was evidenced by building a successful farming operation which has been sustained by his son. Today his grandson lives on the farm and farms with his dad. Donald was proud of his children, grandchildren and 9 great-grandsons. He would have been blessed with 2 great-granddaughters this summer. Due to health concerns, Donald and Dolores moved to Grand Forks the fall of 2000. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. Donald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores; daughters, Janelle (Rod) Holth of Grand Forks, Lucinda (Gary) Haug of Brooklyn Park, MN; son, Donald T. (Mary Jean) Olson of Devils Lake, ND; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandsons; brother, James (Kathy) Olson of Lake Wylie, SC; sister, Bonnie (John) Stiles of Bismarck, ND, and sister-in-law Carol Olson of Minot, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darrell Olson. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church 1405 S. 9th St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the funeral at the church. INTERMENT: Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
