Barbara L. Hanson, 68, of Reynolds, ND, passed away on April 15, 2011 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Barbara Lou (Haroldson) Hanson was born in Mayville, North Dakota on January 9, 1943. Barbara attended several schools in her youth. She attended Thompson Public School her junior year and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in Grand Forks in 1962. She was proud to be a Redskin. She married Keith Hanson in October of 1962 at First Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Barbara's main passion in life was people. She loved to give people compliments and admired the success of others. She also enjoyed watching the Fighting Sioux, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Twins. She attended many events of her grandchildren and showed much pride in their achievements. Barbara loved her children and grandchildren. She was also extremely proud to be a great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Keith, her son Kevin, his special friend Pam, her daughter Sherrie, and her husband Dan Schaefer; grandchildren Kassi Gorder, her husband Brad; Andie Hanson, Alex Hanson, Adam Schaefer and Dustin Schaefer and great-grandson Nolan Gorder; Siblings, Joanne of Fisher, MN Harlan of Fosston, MN; Ronnie & Janet of Reynolds, ND and Larry of Fisher, MN. Funeral services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at East Walle Lutheran Church of Rural Thompson, ND. Visitation: Monday, April 18, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment: (Later Spring) East Walle Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to East Walle Cemetery Fund.
