Jean Elaine Farmer Wylot, 77, Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family Jean Elaine Farmer was born July 15, 1933 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Glenn and Carrie (Robinson) Farmer. She was raised and educated near Ardoch, ND until the family moved to Grand Forks. Jean graduated from Grand Forks Central High School then attended Aaker's Business College. She worked in the pediatric division of St Michael's Hospital of Grand Forks. Jean married Raymond Wylot on January 25, 1955 in California. They later returned to Grand Forks where Jean and her sisters, Doris and Betty, worked in the YWCA snack bar. Jean also worked for the Westward Ho for many years. Jean enjoyed spending time at Island Lake near Lengby, MN. She also enjoyed traveling to Lake Tahoe, NV to visit her son. Survivors include her husband, Ray, Grand Forks; sons, Douglas, Lake Tahoe, NV, Dean (Connie), Thompson, ND and David (Rochele), Grand Forks, ND; granddaughter, Chloe, Thompson, ND and several nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers, Charles, Lynn, a twin brother, Jack and an infant brother, Henry; sisters Doris Coulter, Kathryn Ann Hewitt and Betty Mendick. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks.
