Clara Putnam

Clara M. "Babe" Putnam, 89, Grand Forks, died Friday, June 3, 2011 in 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Clara Mary Lantgen was born to John and Mary (Schultz) Lantgen on May 17, 1922 at Watertown, South Dakota. Clara grew up and attended school at Watertown. Clara and William "Bill" Putnam were united in marriage on August 31, 1941 at Watertown. They lived in several areas in South Dakota and Minnesota before settling in Grand Forks in 1955. Clara is survived by three children, Bill (Marsha) Putnam, Naples, Florida, Pat (Jim) Broten, Dazey, North Dakota, and Kasie (Gary) Simonson, Grand Forks; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Kettwig of Watertown, SD; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers, a granddaughter, and her husband Bill Putnam, who died January 9, 2005.
