Myra "Pat" Patricia Andrews McLaughlin, 71, of Grand Forks, wife of Richard Edward McLaughlin, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2011 after a long courageous battle with illness. She was an inspiration to all as her faith in Jesus shined through daily. Pat was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 5, 1939 to Clifford Collins Andrews and Lula Ophelia Adams. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a young child and was baptized in the Baptist church. Pat graduated from Bessemer High School in Bessemer, AL in 1958. Pat attended Business College after high school. On March 17, 1961 she married Richard McLaughlin in Bessemer, AL. Pat worked for many years as office manager including Vuecom Cable TV, TCI Communications and Midcontinent Cable. The most recent as a Business Manager with a family owned business, Southern Skies Aviation in Alabama. Pat affected many lives with her instant friendship and caring love. She will be missed in our daily lives by family and friends, but she left us with wonderful memories. Pat was one of the original members in forming the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Grand Forks, where she faithfully served as secretary and on other committees. Pat loved to read and cook, especially for special occasions like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Her favorite times were those spent with family and cherished every moment with her grandkids. She enjoyed music and playing the piano. She lived her life by one of her favorite scriptures, Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven." Pat is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Kenneth McLaughlin and Richard Keith (Tricia) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Chase, Madisyn, Kelsie, Kristina, Brittany, Hope and Jessica; siblings, Susan, John (Jackie), Donnie and David. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Larry and Clifford Jr. FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. VISITATION: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with an 8:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, June 10. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the funeral service at Amundson's. INTERMENT: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
