Thelma (Dahl) Vreeland was born May 10, 1918 at Park River, ND, the daughter of Theodore and Ellen (Stark) Dahl. Thelma was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran church in Park River and graduated from Park River High School before going on to attend Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. Thelma married Carroll Vreeland on November 1, 1936 in Seattle Washington. While married Thelma and Carroll lived in many places including: Grand Forks, Bemidji, MN, Carrington, ND, Niagara, ND, Michigan, ND, Grand Forks, ND, Hawley, MN and again back to Grand Forks where she resided until her death. Thelma was employed by Goodman's in Grand Forks and later at Maury's TV in EGF, and her last full time employment was at Norby's Department Store in Grand Forks which closed in 1985. She volunteered at the Gift Shop at Altru Hospital, was active in Calvary Lutheran Church, and served as an officer in Church Women United. She was also active in United Commercial Travelers of America holding offices in the Local Council as well as the Grand Council. Survivors are son Lynn (Virginia) and daughter Cheryl both of Grand Forks as well as grandchildren Corey (Peggy) Vreeland and Christi (Robert) Bakke of Grand Forks, Brother Ronald Dahl of Weslaco, Texas. Many great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll (8-19-87), sisters Ruth Ann Gjevre and Blanche Espelien.
